Ingredients

• 6 piecesFirm cooking apples (e.g., Boskoop)
• 150 gFine sugar
• 80 gUnsalted butter
• 1 rollFresh puff pastry
• 2 tbspLemon juice
• 4 scoopsVanilla ice cream

Preparation

1. 1Peel, core, and quarter the apples, and immediately toss them with the lemon juice.
2. 2Slowly melt the sugar in an ovenproof skillet over medium heat and let it caramelize until golden brown.
3. 3Add the butter in pieces to the caramel and stir until smooth and well combined.
4. 4Arrange the apple quarters tightly in a circular pattern with the rounded side down in the caramel and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
5. 5Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius conventional heat.
6. 6Place the puff pastry over the apples, tuck the edges inward along the rim of the pan, and prick the surface several times with a fork.
7. 7Bake the tart in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
8. 8Let it cool for 5 minutes after baking, place a serving platter over the pan, and carefully invert it.
9. 9Serve warm, each with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
