Career changer winemaker
Stepping off the hamster wheel of a regulated daily routine in a large, international technology corporation. Creating something that I can fully stand behind.
My wine story
The idea of making wine has been with me for a long time. During my time at a large technology corporation in Hamburg, the desire to create something of my own matured. A vacation in Styria ultimately provided the decisive impulse: I wanted to take the plunge and become a winemaker as a career changer. Along this path, I have had the privilege of meeting many wonderful people who have supported me, some of whom have become close friends. Internships at renowned wineries on the Mosel, Nahe, and in my home region of Franconia have shaped my perspective on wine. At the same time, I became self-employed as a trainer, coach, and consultant, thus creating the freedom to realize my dream of having my own winery.

Where our wines grow
Three unique vineyard sites with a very distinct character — soil and climate in Thüngersheim in Lower Franconia shape each of our vintages.

Fischberg
Fischberg
Silvaner vines from 19XX
The Fischberg is a west-facing, rather cool vineyard site with deep soils and good water retention capacity. These conditions enable a slow, even ripening of the grapes and give the wines power, fullness, and a striking depth with a balanced structure.

Altenberg
Altenberg
Silvaner vines from 1968
The Altenberg is our oldest vineyard site and is characterized by an extraordinary diversity. Roses, quinces, peaches, almonds, and other woody plants grow between the vines, creating a vibrant ecosystem. This special atmosphere also shapes the character of the wines and gives them expression and personality.

Rothlauf
Rothlauf
Silvaner vines from 1969 and 1994
The Rothlauf lies east of the Grosses Gewächs site and is one of the cooler vineyard sites in Thüngersheim. The deep soils of Muschelkalk and Buntsandstein meet here in a geological fault zone. They give the wines freshness, minerality, and a multi-layered, elegant structure.
ETHOS – 12 Franconian winemakers
We are members of ETHOS, a network of 12 winemakers from Franconia dedicated to sustainable viticulture. Since 2015, we have been working together to preserve steep slopes, biodiversity in the vineyard, and the preservation of genuine craftsmanship.
